The Hartford
Project Title: The Hartford’s Innovation Community Work for Policy & Common Functions Continuous Delivery Release
Project Description: The Hartford has worked directly with CSC over the past year to significantly improve the Continuous Delivery Release (CDR) process and the ability to efficiently and effectively migrate Innovation Community (IC) enhancements into production. Together, The Hartford and CSC created the CDR Scorecard now in use to report progress for each project. Defect Management was streamlined to include response and reaction service-level agreements. The team designed and implemented enhanced business documentation for each release including executive summaries for each enhancement; clear business benefits outlined for each issue addressed in the release; business impact analysis for presentation, workflow and database changes; screen shots to compare and contrast presentation changes; before-and-after views; and configurability details to quickly understand if an enhancement can be turned off without additional impacts. Business and technical review sessions were incorporated into the IC/CDR process for CSC and Hartford personnel to provide oversight concerning the intention versus the interpretation of each deliverable. CSC partnered with The Hartford to create and allow access to a pre-release environment to preview and participate in quality assurance for each enhancement prior to delivery in base. Verification and validation documents were reviewed and improvements were implemented. The Hartford worked with CSC to define a process to allow Exceed customers to be development partners for CDR moving forward.
