Winner

Company: Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company

Project Title: Enhanced New Business Workflow
Project Description: This project reduced the number of screens users must navigate to enter a New Business application. The reduction was accomplished by several means. First, added fields allow the user to define a forced workflow specific to the number of drivers and vehicles being placed on the application. Secondly, questions in the form of checkboxes added in strategic locations take a user to a data entry screen automatically. For example, on the vehicle page, the question “Does Vehicle have a Lienholder?” was added and if checked, automatically invokes additional interest entry which saves up to four screens of work. Lastly, enhanced interaction between the Policy and Client application reduced the number of steps to get into and out of the client application for new client entry. For a typical two-driver, two-vehicle application, this enhancement reduced the number of entry screens by 34 percent.

Honorable Mentions

Company: Accident Fund Insurance Company of America

Project Title: eLink Upgrade to Include Real-Time New Business with Applied and AMS agents
Project Description: In a move sure to be adopted by other carriers, Accident Fund launched a customized upgrade to its agent facing portal, eLink, taking full advantage of the newest technologies to offer agents increased functionality. With greater participation from the agents on day-to-day transactions, it was important to offer additional real-time transactions, which reduce errors and lead to significant time savings for the agent. Real-time transactions allow the agents to remain in their agency management system and complete inquiries, new business and endorsements. By eliminating the need to login and navigate through the company system, the time savings for the agency is dramatic. Real-time capabilities give the agency a one-click function to retrieve or send the information to the company system. This upgrade provided an easier-to-use technology platform with increased security and usability, and expanded real-time capabilities to include new business. Accident Fund worked closely with internal and agency staff to ensure that each option, screen, button and workflow matched the agents’ needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. Agents are enthusiastic about how this new system eliminates double entry and maximizes ease of use.

Company: Safety Insurance Company

Project Title: Immediate Print
Project Description: Through the "Once and Done" principle, Safety Insurance is always on the front edge of customer service. The company proved this once again by implementing STP for Series II. For the Immediate Print project, Safety brought together the following group of products: Agency Link, Series II XML, Series II STP, Document Production and Media Management. Immediate Print is the last step in "Once and Done," which will allow the agent to hand insureds the actual declaration page before they leave the office. Once the agent submits the policy in Agency Link, the data is converted to XML and feeds Series II STP to be issued. The print image is then created in Document Production and fed to Media Management. The agent receives notification and can generate a PDF to print and hand to the insured. This closes the loop for "Once and Done" and will provide great print and postage savings for Safety Insurance.
